Event – Mandan Rodeo Days

Mandan Rodeo Days

With so many events canceled or postponed, it’s been hard to find something worth going to on the weekends this summer.

Many towns have even canceled 4th of July celebrations.

But not everywhere. In Mandan, they ain’t scared of the ‘rona and they’ll even throw in a Rodeo.

The Mandan Rodeo Days Celebration, held annually on during the Independence Day holiday in Mandan, N.D., (the rural part of Bismarck) celebrates its 141st year in 2020. The rodeo, which was named PRCA Badlands Circuit Rodeo of the Year in 2016, is July 2-4. T

This celebration began 10 years before North Dakota was a state. It’s the largest regular-season PRCA rodeo in North Dakota, attracting top cowboys and cowgirls. The rodeo features a Miss Rodeo Mandan queen and princess pageant along with entertainment from top rodeo clowns and a gigantic fireworks display after the final rodeo performance.

Nothing more American than a rodeo and blowing stuff up.

“Make a western week of it. After the 4th, head west, and take in Theodore Roosevelt National Park in Medora, ND. It’s a mini Grand Canyon. Then head south to Rapid City and take in Mount Rushmore.” – Craig
